Caregivers in Rochester, MN
About Us
Welcome to Stewartville Senior Campus
Stewartville Senior Campus is proud to be a community-owned organization with a long-standing tradition of excellence in senior care. For over 55 years, we have provided a variety of geriatric services to meet the needs of Rochester and the surrounding communities. Our mission is to deliver the highest quality of care and service, giving peace of mind to residents and their families.
Our History
Our story began in 1969, when the people of Stewartville came together to build a nursing home dedicated to serving local seniors. At that time, a non-profit organization was formed, governed by a community-based board of directors, to oversee its operations. In 1975, the North Wing was added, bringing the total capacity to 109 beds and allowing us to better meet the growing needs of our community.
Our Growth
In 1985, Stewartville Care Center expanded further with the addition of Stewartvilla, a 32-unit HUD senior housing project built on the south end of the Care Center. This project provided affordable, supportive housing options for older adults.
In 1998, we added Root River Estates, a 29-unit independent apartment complex on the Stewartville Senior Campus. Together, these expansions created a true continuum of care—ranging from independent living to skilled nursing services—ensuring that residents can find the right level of support at every stage of life.
